TROVEFILL LICENSE AGREEMENT (plain English)

Version for the 1.0 tester release.

This agreement is between you (the person or organization installing TroveFill) and TroveFill
("we"). By installing or using TroveFill you agree to it. If you don't agree, don't install or
use it.


1. What you may do

- Install and use TroveFill on the number of computers (seats) your license file names. Without a
  license file, TroveFill is an evaluation copy: you may use it to decide whether it suits you.
  Evaluation copies work fully and say "evaluation copy" on every fill certificate.
- Make backup copies of the installer for your own use.
- Let your employees and contractors use it for your work.


2. What you may not do

- Sell, rent, lend or give TroveFill or a license file to anyone else.
- Change a license file, or make or use a license file we did not issue.
- Remove or hide notices that say TroveFill is an evaluation copy, or the copyright and
  third-party notices.
- Reverse engineer TroveFill, except where the law lets you do so despite this agreement.


3. Your data stays yours, on your computer

TroveFill works offline. It contains no networking code: it does not send your documents, your
form values, or information about how you use it to us or anyone else. What it keeps (learned
field mappings, settings, the optional audit journal, the log) stays on your computer, and you
can erase it at any time from Settings and help. Values are never written to its log.


4. You stay responsible for what is filed

TroveFill fills forms; it never submits them. It checks its own work: it reads every value back,
flags values it is not sure of, and tells you what it could not fill and why. But you, not
TroveFill, decide what is filed, signed or sent. Review every form before you use it. TroveFill
is not legal, tax or immigration advice, and a form being filled by TroveFill does not mean it is
correct or complete for your situation.


5. The license file

A license file is checked on your computer only. It may have an end date; after it, TroveFill
goes back to being an evaluation copy. Nothing is locked and nothing is deleted. There is no
per-document or per-fill charge.


6. Third-party components

TroveFill includes open-source components. Their licenses are in legal\THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt
and apply to those components; this agreement does not limit your rights under them.


7. Updates

TroveFill never updates itself. New versions are installed by you or your administrator.


8. No warranty

TroveFill is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those
written in this agreement, including that it will be error-free or fit a particular purpose.


9. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses,
or for losses arising from forms you file, and our total liability is limited to the amount you
paid for your license (or, for an evaluation copy, to zero).


10. Ending this agreement

You may stop using TroveFill at any time. If you break this agreement, your right to use
TroveFill ends. Sections 3, 4, 8 and 9 continue after it ends.


11. The whole agreement

This is the whole agreement about TroveFill unless you and we sign a separate written agreement,
which then takes precedence where the two differ.
